Location: Northeastern Syria – Syrian Coast A crucial testimony from Mr. Hassan Younan, an escort of the Kurdish Red Crescent delegation that visited villages in the Syrian coast on March 23, 2025: Al-Mukhtariyah Village: Residents are still displaced. Some returned during the visit, but fear returning permanently due to local militias. General Security refused to place checkpoints for protection. The massacre claimed the lives of 170 people, including 20 families completely wiped out. Villages of Qarfeis, Al-Areemeh, Al-Fazzara, and Al-Wahiya: 20% of the population was killed. The massacre in Qarfeis alone resulted in 24 deaths. Jisr Harmeeso Area: Constant sniper threat. Baniyas–Jableh Road: All homes are abandoned, the area is unsafe. Where are the civil aid forces? No relief campaigns or support efforts have reached Al-Mukhtariyah village since the massacre on March 7. At least 50 people have been killed individually since the end of the mass killings, and the situation continues to deteriorate.
